The Fame Agenda is a fashion retailer located in the Docklands of Melbourne, Australia. With the concepts of ‘transparency and illusion’, the Australian architect Matt Gibson has designed a shop interior for the Fame Agenda retailer. The connection between the interior and exterior is maintained by the arcade concept where a random and organic set of arches merged. This sculptural form was inspired by Thomas Heatherwick’s works and its form creates a cave-like enclosure from within the confines of the rectilinear shell.
This organic form provides merchandising benches, walls and ceiling for the store displays. The arches form provides intimacy and protection from the elevated & wind blown Docklands promenade. It also covers existing structural piers partially. This strong architectural form and resourceful use of material reflects the brand store. The simple black gloss of background walls and accurate material combinations presents an honestly & warmth to this fashion retailer shop.
